I am so thankful that we have reached the first stage of a peace deal in Gaza.

The past two years have been torment. Both for the families of the Israeli hostages and for the people of Gaza, who have gone through immense suffering.

We now want to see the agreement implemented in full, without delay, and accompanied by the immediate lifting of all restrictions on life-saving humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The Government is calling on all parties to meet the commitments they have made, to end the war, and to build the foundations for peace.

The UK will support these crucial immediate steps and the next stage of talks to ensure the full implementation of the peace plan. We must do all we can to help Gaza rebuild and to end the cycle of violence in the Middle East,

My prayer is for a peaceful two-state solution that provides security to both Palestine and Israel.
