David Smith | MP for North Northumberland

About Me

I was delighted to be elected to serve as the new Member of Parliament for North Northumberland on 4th July 2024. It is the greatest honour of my life to have been elected as your MP. We’re all rightly proud of the beauty, heritage and community spirit that we have in Northumberland. It’s now time to ensure that North Northumberland has a future that shines as brightly as our past.

My experience prior to entering Parliament was in the Charity Sector, in which I’d worked for the last 20 years. In the last 7 years I led a homelessness charity in the North East, through which fairness, justice, compassion and empowering the vulnerable was at the heart of everything, and these qualities continue to guide me to this day in Parliament.

I promise to work with you and to bring all of my experience to the job to help and support you, and champion our beautiful region.

My Roles

Alongside representing you in North Northumberland, I am honoured to participate in a number of Parliamentary and Governmental functions to support constituents, and the wider UK. Find out more about this work below.

I champion North Northumberland in Parliament, representing the interests of our beautiful area as much as possible when the house is in session.
